The High Note Global Initiative, founded by David Clark Cause, honors artists who intertwine music with the spirit of human rights, using their voices to champion social justice across borders. In a world where music knows no boundaries, musicians occupy a unique place, wielding the power to speak truth to power and mobilize individuals toward meaningful change. From advancing education and combating extreme poverty to challenging racism, sexism, ageism, and advocating for gender identity and environmental justice, musicians have consistently stood at the forefront of the global human rights movement.
THE ORIGIN
In 2017, David Clark proposed an inspired vision to UN Human Rights: a groundbreaking initiative to spotlight artists who champion social justice through their music. Thus, The High Note Global Initiative was born - a cause brand designed to amplify “music that matters” on a global stage. Embracing the concept of fusing human rights with the arts, UN Human Rights signed on as the Global Partner, lending its influence to this unique cause brand. Following suit, Rolling Stone Magazine and The GRAMMY Museum joined the High Note coalition, committed to bringing this transformative human rights initiative to the heart of the music industry and its audiences worldwide.
