In 2020, a High Note Global Cause Flash social media campaign was launched on December 10th – UN Human Rights Day. The 2020 High Note Global Prize was presented to John Legend in recognition of his social justice advocacy throughout his career. In order to honor John and his FREEAMERICA campaign, a global social-medial campaign was launched on December 10th – Human Rights Day, a day supported by the 193 Member States of the United Nations. Celebrities who helped honor John included his wife Chrissy Teigan, LL Cool J, Trevor Noah, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, Blake Shelton, Alice Cooper, Robin Thicke and many others.
In 2019, a High Note Global Cause Flash social media campaign was launched on December 10th – UN Human Rights Day. The 2019 High Note Global Prize was presented to Cyndi Lauper in recognition of her advocacy for LGBTQ rights throughout her career. The celebrity-driven social media campaign celebrated Cyndi Lauper’s advocacy for the LGBTQ community and promoted the important work of UN Human Rights and True Colors United – a nonprofit organization co-founded by Lauper that implements innovative solutions to LGBTQ youth homelessness.
Cause Flash celebrity participants included Cher, Kesha, Brandi Carlile, Henry Rollins, King Princess, Margaret Cho and many others.
Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on December 10th. It commemorates the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
