THE INSPIRATION

Noel Franus, the Founder of the initiative asked David Clark to help create a Cause Brand and strategy for a very unique project he was about to undertake. Noel’s sister-in-law, Molly, was diagnosed with breast cancer, and as a survivor she only had two choices post-surgery – reconstruction or not.

Noel pointed out there’s a third option most don’t realize – what if you could cover the post-surgery scars with beautiful tattoos? If that could work, then the simple goal would be to figure out how best to connect breast cancer survivors with tattoo artists who could provide a form of healing no one else can.

THE CAUSE BRAND

Since the pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness, Clark realized he needed to incorporate it somehow, yet recognized he also had to touch on the personal and sensitive nature of each woman’s journey from breast cancer diagnosis to survivor. In response, Clark created the Cause Brand name Personal INK (P.ink).
