Clean Water Here Global Photography Exhibit will open at the United Nations in NYC on World Water Day 2018

DENVER, Colo. (September 25, 2017) – Clean Water Here and 1x.com are partnering to support UN World Water Day by creating a global photography exhibition documenting the current issues surrounding safe drinking water.

Clean Water Here, a global movement started in the US, created the world’s largest social media campaign on safe drinking water with over 750 million social media voices on UN World Water Day 2017 including celebrity supporters Pitbull, Pink, Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Kesha, Sting, Fergie, Ryan Seacrest, Jason Derulo, and others.

To build upon this momentum twelve extraordinary photographs will be selected by world-renowned photographers Martin Schoeller, Kristen Ashburn and Robert Clark, and unveiled on March 22, 2018 UN World Water Day, at the Clean Water Here Global Photography Exhibit at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

These photographs will educate the public on the issues of safe drinking water and travel to additional cities around the world including Paris where they will be featured at the world headquarters of UNESCO.  The global exhibit will benefit World Vision, the largest non-governmental supplier of clean water in the developing world.

“Safe drinking water is a human right and one of the most important global challenges of the 21 st century.” said Lani Dolifka, the creator of Clean Water Here. “This unique partnership we will give the public a better understanding of the issue – especially as it relates to underserved communities both here in the US and around the world.  We will use social media to help show why safe drinking water is critical to every man, woman, and child.

”Photographs are so powerful when it comes to raising awareness, because they talk directly to your feelings, no matter which language you speak”, said Ralf Stelander, founder of 1x.com. ”By encouraging people to take pictures, we also engage on a deeper level, since you have to make your own interpretation and really start thinking. What we have learnt from curating the best photos in the world for 10 years is that seemingly ordinary pictures are sometimes the most extraordinary, because you can relate to them and they make you feel, like all successful photos do. We are very proud to support World Water Day and UN-water with this exhibition.”

The submission period for eligible photo entries is September 25, 2017 through February 28, 2018..
