American Thunder

American Thunder

THE IDEA:

David Clark wants to create an entertainment brand to raise funds and awareness for issues that affect the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and their families who support them.

THE BRAND:

Clark creates the American Thunder Music Festival and stages it during the iconic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. The broadcast event benefits the Bob Woodruff Foundation which supports our men and women in uniform, and was hosted by Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, who performed with Stevie Nicks and John Fogerty in front of an audience of over 52,000 fans on August 11, 2011.

During the concert, President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Former President George HW. Bush lent their support via a film tribute broadcast to the audience.

THE BROADCAST:

American Thunder’s broadcast partners include HDnet, the Pentagon Channel and the American Forces Network, which broadcast the benefit internationally to over one million active duty men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces in more than 175 countries and U.S. territories, and onboard all U.S. Navy ships around the world.
